Chickadee bon-bons

Happy Easter! Peep Peep!

I got into the springtime spirit by making some chickadee bon-bons. They're my homemade version of a cake pop, and yes you can google the recipe and the idea from Bakerella. I have browsed and browsed her cake pop book in the stores! I wish I had one for my coffee table-- but then again, that would make me hungrier for cake. With a few exceptions, I've been doing pretty darn well on my little diet so I don't need the temptation. After 20 days, I've lost 4 lbs! Yeah!

To me, Easter and spring are all about the amazing resilience of people, nature and the world as a whole. It seems like the planet is celebrating a new season, a new day, and new life with every little bloom and every little leaf. I'm not sure what that has to do with chocolate-covered cake in the shape of chicks, but I'm pretty sure they'll make the little cousins happy after an egg hunt! Not only do they taste good, but they were fun to make this morning while I procrastinated on my homework project a little bit longer.

They look so cute and delicious! I've never had a cake pop, so I'll have to give these a try. Glad you shared the recipes. And way to go on loosing the 4 lbs! Have a Happy Easter this week!

These are too cute, katie! I can practically hear their little chipping voices. :)

Yes! They're ridiculous in a good way. I need to make a batch for supper club at some point :-)
